Parenting is undoubtedly the most challenging job ever, and just when you thought your little one’s finally done cribbing and throwing tantrums and growing up, there comes the dreaded teenage- where your kid seems to revolt and oppose anything and everything you do.

Thankfully, here we’ve shortlisted some of the best activities for troubled youth- go on and explore and watch them vent their energy in creative and positive reinforcements.

    1. Get them out! There’s no better way to help growing teens learn more about the world and explore than getting them out! It may seem a tad bit difficult in the current digital age, but it’s not impossible. It can be something as simple as washing someone’s car as a helpful gesture or getting enrolled in a outdoor sport activity.
    2. Encourage your teen to get involved in home chores. Now this may seem counterintuitive, but it could actually turn out to be one of the best activities for troubled youth and teenagers who don’t really seem to co-operate a lot. Set up a schedule and get your teen to be involved in some home chores as well. The major benefit from doing this is the sense of accomplishment and pride that comes after the completion of work, which is one of the best ways to expose your growing teen to its importance.
    3. Get them involved in a group or team building sport- there’s no better way to help your teen learn co-operation, co-ordination and the spirit of leadership than this. If your kid is an introvert or just shy, this one might help him grow more confident and finally get out of the shell!
    4. Encourage your teen to learn to give back. Troubled teens have been found to benefit a lot from it, and if your teen has faced a bully issue in school, or has troubles at home or is just stressed out due to school work or peer pressure, this one can be a great chance. Getting your teen to positively impact the lives of the less fortunate around him is a great way to start shaping your teen and encourage him to develop a positive and helpful personality.
    5. Encourage learning. Thanks to the power of the internet, learning isn’t boring anymore. Get your teen enrolled in an online course or look up a YouTube channel that allows your teen to explore something constructive- like learning about reusing kitchen scraps to grow your own vegetables or DIY skincare products or something similar.
    6. Get a pet. Even if your teen doesn’t seem to be ‘ready’ for it, getting a pet and having your teen responsible for it is another great pick among the best activities for troubled youth. This can help your teen feel more in charge and mature, heal emotional scars (yes you read that right), be more social and improve his general outlook towards life.

  1. I agree with all of these. Teens these days are so consumed in their phones and other technology that they don’t know hoe to interact correctly with society.
