Understanding What is the Best Time to Study for Exams
Day vs night- there’s an endless debate among students and parents when it comes to the question what is the best time to study for exams.
If you’ve got a kid getting ready for his semester and are confused about what could be good for his study routine, here’s a little something to help. Read on…
Weighing the Pros & Cons
There are highs and lows to both the study times- be it daytime study or studing at night.
For instance, some kids may perform better and may have better recall if they study during the night- especially among kids in big families or those who have younger siblings, since daytime may not really be a time where they’re able to study uninterrupted. In addition, studying at night has been found to boost creativity.
On the other hand, studying during the night would not be that great for other kids who do get enough time to study during the day, and may also make them less attentive in general, because their body hasn’t got the rest it needs. Children who study during the day are more likely to be energetic and fit apart from doing better in exams.
So What is the Best Time to Study for Exams?
So when it comes to the question what is the best time to study for exams, well there’s no one-size-fits-all answer to it. The idea is to start experimenting a month before exams and see how your kid performs in both the time settings and what factors could be influencing his results when it comes to recalling and studying.
It is also important to note that kids who tend to stay up late and study do need to get ample of sleep during the daytime- being sleep deprived can not just affect health, but productivity as well.
All in all, make sure your kid is well fed with healthy and nutritious foods, has a good sleep for atleast 7 hours a day, uninterrupted study time and of course, small breaks to relax his mind.
